Cressida Stevens MSc MBACP (Accred.) Psychodynamic counsellor and supervisor
Whether you are looking for support with feelings of anxiety or depression, or you are experiencing a particularly difficult moment in your life, counselling can provide space for you to express difficult emotions and talk about your experiences in a safe environment.
What is Psychodynamic Counselling? As a talking therapy, psychodynamic counselling places an importance on the relationship between counsellor and client, creating an environment that encourages open discussion and trust. The psychodynamic approach allows possible connections to be explored between your current situation and earlier experiences in life. What I do My work has focused on helping people from all walks of life, having worked in GP surgeries, community centres, universities and charities. With a wide range of experience, I am able to ensure that every session is focused to support the specific needs of each person. The aim is not only to feel supported in resolving difficulties, but also to gain a better understanding of yourself that can help to maintain future well-being. I place a great importance on establishing a safe and non-judgemental counselling relationship, allowing clients to talk freely and openly about their feelings and difficulties. I place particular focus on how past experiences may continue to affect the ways that we think and behave, and help clients to consider how this could have an impact on their well-being. This can help clients to consider how these factors might influence their daily life and relationships. I work with adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations. I can offer focused, short-term counselling, or in-depth, long-term therapy. Experience I have more than 16 years of experience as a counsellor. Having trained in Psychodynamic Counselling at Birkbeck College, University of London, I also have further qualifications in CBT, Mentalisation Based Therapy and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Locations. Hove & Lewes Fees Each session is 50 minutes and costs £40. I can also provide personal supervision for £45 per session e: cressidastevens@hotmail.com Contact. tel: 07748 016243
